Deceased Return

Using desktop version of Turbotax. My parents both passed away in 2021. I am the Personal Representative. I've completed their return and am trying to e-file but Turbotax is asking for a signature (5-digit PIN) and will not accept anything I put in there including the PIN they used last year. I definitely ticked the boxes that they're deceased and entered their dates of death. I've searched for answers on this topic and from what I can gather, Turbotax isn't supposed to ask for a signature for a deceased's return. I'm fine mailing the forms but I'm not sure if I should sign their return or if something else needs to be filed along with their 1040. Their tax liability is $0 and their refund is $0. Please help!

You are unable to enter the PIN because the tax liability is zero and the refund is zero- you will have to mail it in but TurboTax will include all the forms needed to mail.

Thank you! How should I sign them?

You need to sign the return as "personal representative" before you mail it in.
