Deceased Address

My mother died in 2025. I am working on her 2024 tax return. I am not a court appointed executor. What address should I use?  If I use my address I can get any IRS correspondence. I can't forward her mail yet as I am not a court appointed executor. If I use my address is the IRS going to think my mother lived with me in 2024? If so would that factor into my own 2024 return?

Yes, you will enter your mailing address since you are filing on behalf of your mother.  The IRS will not assume it is where she lived.  Sorry for your loss.

Thank you. So the IRS does not need the address she lived at for all of 2024. It is acceptable to use my address since I am handling the return and need to receive any IRS correspondence.

Yes, they just need to be able to reach the person that files on her behalf.  @NEWMANMINA
