Where on the tax papers do I file crypto purchase?

    • If you purchased crypto to hold as an investment, it does not go on your tax return.
    • If you received an airdrop, exchanged, sold, etc, then it will go on your tax return, form 8949, and you would need to answer yes to the virtual currency question. The law changed and this year you do not need to mark yes if you only purchased to hold as an investment.
