Question

Correcting an autofill error

TurboTax has identified an error arising from its auto-fill function - 2 different zip codes. I uploaded my 1099-R that has a different mailing address than my Federal Information Worksheet. Now my 1099-R is inaccurate because TurboTax auto-filled it with the wrong address.

If you manually enter your 1099-R and indicate who it belongs to, TurboTax will automatically fill in the address from the info section, so they will match.  Delete your imported 1099-R and re-enter it manually.

Thanks MarilynG1 for the reply. I tried entering the 1099-R manually. The software does not give me the option to enter the correct address on it; it still auto-fills all boxes with my other address. I was able to connect with a person (Steve) and we troubleshot for over an hour but the problem was not resolved. Apparently, this is a problem with the online (vs desktop) version, according to Steve and ChatGPT.
