Complaint: TT automatically uses your email as a user name

After logging in with your TT credentials into Turbotax and asking a question, TT continues to the community forum. When you are done formulating your question, and TT does "warn" you not to enter any personal information, it creates a post. But in the process, TT automatically takes your email as a user name in the community. Unlike most forums, this name cannot be changed. This is a serious privacy concern. Really, TT???

So I am now editing the message in order to "delete the post".

I'm not sure what has happened in your situation, but I can assure you that it is not the intention of TurboTax.

I've reported your issue to TurboTax Moderators.  Someone will reach out to you, likely by email, to assist you in this matter.  Please make sure that your TurboTax account is updated to reflect your current email address.  I'm sharing the TurboTax FAQ with instructions to update your TT account below.

It's 2022 and I am just now seeing this message. Thank you for reporting this, and for the action that may have been taken based on it. I was able to update my username myself today so this is not an issue anymore.

However, I still have an issue with security: I need to use the same login for this forum, for purchases from Intuit, as well as for MINT (by Intuit).

This is flagged by LastPass as a security risk (repeated password) so I would like to see action to separate these logins. I hope you are able to resolve what Microsoft has not been able to fix (reconcile MS logins with Skype logins, which they purchased later). Password Managers don't like this, and, frankly, neither do I.
