Claiming a dependent brother
It says I get a tax credit of $4050 but my refund is only about $1937. Shouldn't it be a bit more if I'm claiming a dependent?

Claiming a dependent brother
A dependent deduction reduces your tax by reducing your taxable income. It is not an amount that you get back. A deduction can reduce your taxable income only to zero, it can not reduce it to below zero.
