If you need the working days allocation screens, you are either:
- a nonresident of Detroit who worked in the City limits, or
- a part-year resident of Detroit that must allocate a portion of income to the City
In both of the above scenarios, it is important to make sure your W-2 is entered fully into TurboTax. The working days allocation screens will only populate in your state return when you enter Boxes 18-20 of your W-2.
If there is no Detroit withholding, but you need the working days allocation fields, then please enter Box 18 and Box 20 and leave Box 19 blank, or enter 0. Since you are allocating the wages in the state return, you can enter the Box 16 wages for Box 18.

After you go back into your Michigan state return, please follow the steps below:
- On the screen, A few things before we wrap up your state taxes, click Revisit next to Michigan City Tax Returns.
- Enter the information required on the following screens.
- On the screen, Detroit Wages, click Edit next to your W-2.
- Using the drop down menu, click on Working Days Allocation, on the page Detroit Wage Amount.

- On the page Allocation of Detroit Wages, please ensure all boxes are filled out for tax to calculate properly.
- Continue through your return.
