hello experts,
my son will be turning 18 yrs of age - an adult, in june of 2022.... for filing 2022 tx return, in calendar year 2023, may i still list him as my dependant for the 2022 year?

You can claim your son as a dependent until the tax year in which he turns 19 or until he turns 24 if he is a full-time student. He can also file his own tax return to seek a refund of tax withheld but will have to say on his own return that he can be claimed as someone else's dependent.
WHO CAN I CLAIM AS A DEPENDENT?
You can claim a child, relative, friend, or fiancé (etc.) as a dependent on your 2021 taxes as long as they meet the following requirements:
Qualifying child
Qualifying relative
When you add someone as a dependent, we'll ask a series of questions to make sure you can claim them. There may be other tax benefits you can get when you claim a dependent.
