My husband and I have been filing separate this last year and the year before, due to him being behind on child support although he is almost caught up now (he’s been paying with his own tax refund and money being taken out weekly from his check) he will still owe some by the end of next year but this should be the last year that he is behind. We would like to start filing together from now on. I have heard of filing as “injured spouse” does turbo tax offer that? Also will his part go to child support? We don’t want to avoid child support all together, we just want his half to go to it. Is that possible at all?

Yes, that is the purpose of the Injured Spouse form. It allows you to file a joint return and only use the portion of the refund attributed to the person who owes the debt to be used to pay the debt. TurboTax does support filing of Form 8379 Injured Spouse Allocation.
