Were you the beneficiary of this QTP? If you were not the beneficiary, then you do not need to report it on your tax return.
The owner of a QTP plan is sent a copy of the 1099-Q, as well as the beneficiary. If the beneficiary received the funds, either directly or indirectly, then the beneficiary is the one who reports it on their tax return.
