Still unable to import 109x forms from Charles Schwab into Turbo Tax desktop software. Getting error "Login temporarily unavailable". Just ridiculous! Spoke with Charles Schwab and they are aware that the issue still exists and there is no ETA for it, not sure if it will be fixed before the deadline at all. Their workaround is to manually fill in all the information needed. With 100s of entries in the trade history, submitting all of them manually without a single typo is nearly impossible.
Just don't know what Turbo Tax is doing from their side. They don't even make their customers aware of the issue for new buyers and publicize the deadline and their namesake discounts rather.
Do you guys know of any other vendor where automatic tax forms import from CS is working without issues to file taxes ASAP? Please let me know.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Log into your Schwab account, go to your Profile, select Security Center or Security, scroll to the last section titled Third party access, click enable third party access, then save. This allows Turbo tax to communicate with Schwab. Remember to go back into your Schwab account after you've downloaded your info and follow the steps above but this time disable third party access until next year. Make yourself a note to remember to do this again next year.
Sorry to hear about that. I succeeded with Schwab import a while ago. Guess I was lucky.
As a work around you could enter a single transaction for each type (short/term long/term) to get an good number for what you owe or should get back. Then pay what you owe (rounded up to be sure), file an extension, and come back before Oct 15 to see if it is fixed.
Or you can tell TT that you will only enter the summary totals. TT will then have you print out a Form 8453. After your efile is accepted you mail in the 8453 with a copy of your 1099-b and you are all set.
Both are not what one wants, but they aren't that bad.

I just checked it and the third party access for Quicken and Turbo Tax Desktop is already enabled. But TT is still NOT able to connect to CS.
