I have the TurboTax CD. I can preview both my Federal and State (NJ) returns, but I cannot save the state return as a pdf or print it. I click on "Save a pdf" in "Print/Save for your records" and in the Form Selection section I get "Your New Jersey return(s) is currently unavailable to view, print, or download because some of the forms haven't been finalized yet." Clicking the "notify me" link just pops up an error. Even when I select File then Print, I can do the Federal but not the State. I click Preview and both returns are there! I click View and then Form, and everything is there! But when I click on Print at the bottom, I can print any form under the NJ Return EXCEPT for the NJ-1040! (I can't even do a screen print.) I filed both electronically through TurboTax (maybe this was the mistake?) but when I go to Intuit the message says that I have not filed by taxes through TurboTax!! Trying to work through the 800 number is pointless. If I can't print the State return, is there any way I can "force" TurboTax to at least save the return in the pdf file? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It may take longer for one form or another to show up in TurboTax for multiple reasons. Our goal is to provide you with the most accurate information possible. As part of this process, we communicate often with the taxing agencies.
For up-to-date status, refer your customer to the federal and state forms-availability articles.
AliciaP1,
Thank you for your response, but that is not what I'm trying to do. I can view the State Return in TurboTax and filed it electronically through TurboTax. However, TurboTax will NOT allow me to save it as a pdf or even print it! If I can see the completed form in TurboTax, it absolutely does not make any sense to me why I can't print it! How could TurboTax be able to file it electronically but not let me print what was filed? That can't be some sort of "safety feature". There is a bug in the program that won't let me print the forms. I'll be happy to spend the time with someone from the Fix Team to get this resolved so I can at least print out the forms. Thank you.
The reason it will not allow you to print is the form has to be fully formatted to print. It is allowed to be submitted electronically because it is digitally formatted. Once the formatting is done to be printed, it will allow you to print. @RIX4X4
I am having the same problem with a state form (Louisiana). I cannot save as a PDF or print on paper. The federal version saves as PDF and prints fine. I cannot print the "active form" from the Forms page either. Saying that the form is not formatted correctly is an issue with TurboTax's software. Fix this bug, TT. I see the Apple report. Formatting = TT's software.
Are you using the desktop or online version @stevenxcile ?
@CarissaM, I am using the desktop download. However, yesterday, Rebecca at TT helped me over the phone. I did not believe her when she asked me to try a simple solution: Reboot my fiber optics internet modem/router - turn off for 2 minutes and turn on. Everyone with a MacBook Pro running Catalina (and maybe other OS versions, too) + fiber optics internet to the home: follow the on/off instructions - don't cheat on the timer, stay with 2 minutes or more - it worked for me.
I went from top down in my trouble shooting because I knew more about programming, which was pointless. I do not know enough about hardware and data transmission, which is, apparently, the area of expertise that is needed. I still don't understand why it worked, but it did. Maybe something similar to clearing out the cache in a computer? Rebecca deserves a raise and a reward for dealing with me.
I am still having trouble printing my maryland return to pdf. there has been no resolution after several weeks. I was just on the phone with turbotax and got disconnected after waiting for help for 38 minutes.
I hav the same problem with the intuit site. it says I have not filed my returns through TT. however, I was able to do screenshots of the state returns using screenshot--grab would probably work too. of course you have to do several shots for many of the forms. it is amazing that TT has not fixed this issue that obviously affects many users.
rebooting the internet connection did not work when using the turbotax deluxe CD. on a mac running Big Sur 11.6.3
I am running Catalina, 10.15.7. Turbotax from online download. ATT fiber with ATT modem. So far, as of March 31, 2022, I am still able to print to PDF (Apple Preview) or Print using the "Preview" from File menu or Print a copy from inside the TT software. I made sure that Catalina was up-to-date. I have to print because my state of residence may require paper filing for me.
I can't print my NY State Return. I've tried lots of different things. Did turn off my router for 2 minutes. This is not okay. My mom was able to print out her Pennsylvania state return. Both of us could print out our federal return. I paid almost $50 for the TurboTax NY State, and then I can't print it. This is not okay. I need to be able to print this out. Please help, Turbotax.
