This problem still has not been resolved as of 10 February 5pm Eastern time.
I'm having the same issue as well. Feb. 11 @ 8:42pm EST
Filed my federal Jan28th and been trying to file Maryland SINCE. I was getting 2 errors, one stated form 8582 then after hitting continue the next showed Activity Worksheet. Now I’m getting Activity Worksheet but on it it states Form 8582. Been trying DAILY with same results. Waited til yesterday (feb10th) and….. STILL the same outcome. Reading through the thread I see folks are saying delete the “0”. Please tell us on what form and WHAT 0? I’m using the online version NOT software so I don’t see anything their talking about. I ended up upgrading to use the “expert” help which DOESNT help and I feel that was a waste of money. Now I’m considering buying the software JUST to get this done. Please help ALL us with getting this done TT.
This is ridiculous. I'm stuck on the Activity Description form referencing 8582 as well. I've tried for weeks trying to file and finally just did Federal. I tried migrating MD State data to TaxAct but I only see the ability to upload previous year's data and I'm not able to go through the extensive form-filling process again.
TurboTax needs to eliminate this unnecessary worksheet or at least allow for it to be deleted by the user without it immediately popping back up again after deletion. This can't be that difficult. Especially given none of us Marylanders with this issue seem to have passive income in the first place.
They also need to acknowledge the glitch instead of blaming it on a Federal form that's being updated.
Giving full state software refunds and a big discount on next year's filing for affected Maryland residents would be a nice gesture. Otherwise, even though I've used TurboTax for many years, I'm moving on to another vendor.
An alternative for the online version is
Go to the state and deleted it. If the credits they ask about don’t apply to you keep going. Once you complete it, you may not get any additional questions about the 8582.

Please try this workaround

None of this actually works for the online version.
I go to tools, delete forms, then delete the worksheet. It works... Until I click continue or file. Then the SW runs the logic again and the worksheet pops right back up. There's no firm 8582 available so there's nowhere to delete a zero. There's only that Activity Description worksheet under Maryland State.
They need to enable the feature that’s on the software on the Online version.
I’ve also deleted the form and BAM.. it’s right back again.
The program is still being updated to correct this issue. Please check back in a few days by logging into the program for any updates.
The "Best Answer" seems like it's referring to the CD version of Turbo Tax. There is no Forms option in the Online version. I'm paying for Premium and MAX, so really don't want to pay for the CD version just to remove a 0. Is there any other solution for those doing this Online???
I'm having the exact same issue! Now Form 8582 isn't stopping me, the Activity Worksheet is (which is related to form 8582). This is infuriating. And don't bother calling the helpline, because the girl I spoke too had no clue how to even maneuver the Turbo Tax software let alone be able to sufficiently answer a question about what forms and worksheets are or aren't needed. And told me I'd have to wait for the federal to be updated.....and there was no date for that update yet. What a joke! Not sure I'll be retuning to to Turbo Tax next year and if I hadn't already paid and when through all of this, I would cancel and go elsewhere this year as well.
The issue is STILL unresolved, three weeks after it was flagged!
None of the suggestions in this thread (which are appreciated!) work for the online (Amazon) Turbotax version. Worksheets that are deleted promptly pop back up in the filing process, and entering a "0" in the indicated fields does not help either.
I have been using TurboTax since 2012 but am seriously doubting I will use it again. Spent $20 on the MD state e-filing and now stuck waiting for Intuit to resolve the issue. How hard could it be to get this fixed?
@MichelleLO Any updated from Intuit side of things?
All I see is it’s being handled and should be available soon smh.
Everyday I start my mornings seeing if it’s fixed and end my day the same. This is crazy.
