Maybe. Your BF might be able to claim your daughter as a dependent for the $500 credit for other dependents if she lived with him for the ENTIRE year in 2024, and he provided over half of her support. Since they are not related and he is not legally married to her mother, he cannot use her to file as Head of Household, cannot get the child tax credit or earned income credit for claiming her. If you--her mother -- had less than $5050 of income in 2024 --not counting Social Security----he may also be able to claim you for the $500 credit for other dependents. If you did not live with him for the whole year, he cannot claim either one of you.

WHO CAN I CLAIM AS A DEPENDENT?
You can claim a child, relative, friend, or fiancé (etc.) as a dependent on your 2024 taxes as long as they meet the following requirements:
Qualifying child
Qualifying relative
When you add someone as a dependent, we'll ask a series of questions to make sure you can claim them. There may be other tax benefits you can get when you claim a dependent.
