Can i tax file as Single if wife live outside US and never travel to USA yet?

I had paid more than $3000 as taxes to my home country and I was double taxed. But the HR Block professional was clueless on how to report it to the IRS. I made my own research on this and had to explain them how it works.

Thanks. But I was able to research and file correct forms and get back all taxes as a refund from IRS. This is because India has a DTAA (Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement) with the US and the Agreement says you cannot be taxed twice on the same amount. Either of the governments will give the taxes back to the filer.
