TurboTax 2016 will not work on Windows XP.  Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP on April 8th, 2014.  Two years ago was the last year TurboTax was able to run on Windows XP, but we required users to password protect their .Tax files.

You will need to at least have Windows Vista, Service Pack 2 or higher through Windows 10 to install the program.  However, you can use TurboTax Online on Windows XP.

I am sorry for the unfortunate news, but I hope it guides you in a positive direction. Best of luck!
