CAN I SAVE MY DOWNLOAD OF TURBO TAX DESKTOP AND ITS CONTENTS ON A FLASH DRIVE?

    Both 2023 and 2024 desktop versions of Turbo Tax were downloaded to my imac. I am wanting to free up space on the imac computer. Is it possible to move these 2 desktop applications to a flash drive? Can my entries be preserved within the program? 

     I would like to have quick access to both application and tax files should I need to make revisions. 

     The only other alternative would be to move the files to a Windows 10 computer. 

Please advise.

Yes, you can save your TurboTax programs to a removable drive.  Your actual tax data files .tax2023 and .tax2024 will remain on your computer, but those files are not nearly as large.

I wouldn't recommend saving your tax data files to a removable drive, because if you restore them to your computer later, they can become corrupted.  

Probably saving the both the programs and your tax data files to another computer with more storage would be the safest solution.

Thanks! Do you have an rough estimate please of the size of flash drive needed to copy the Turbo Tax Desktop versions. (I think the versions are Premier for Desktop  (Mac) for both 2023 and 2024.)

Since your programs are in your Online account you can download them again or get the other download for Windows.  And I would save your tax data files and pdf files to a flash drive or some backup system you have.   You should be making frequent backups.   Do you use Time Machine?
