Can I restart my individual tax return and if so, will all my data from previous year transferred over to the new return?

Yes, if you filed your 2022 tax return using the online editions and have signed onto your 2023 online account with the same User ID as was used for 2022, then when you start a new 2023 tax return the 2022 return will transfer to the 2023 return.

If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the program screen while working on the 2023 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over.
