Can I proceed to e-file even though my husband passed away this year and can't sign the form?

I won't have the death certificate until tomorrow. Do I have to file via paper?

I am sorry for your loss. You can go ahead and e-file. Did you check the box in his Personal Information area that asks whether this person had died before filing this return? If you did not go back to the Personal Info section and select edit next to his name. You will see a question asking if the person passed away before filing the return. Be sure that is checked.
