Can i pay my extension and have it post marked by April 17 and be on time?

I'm paying by check and on the last screen where I said I would print out and post the extension, it said I had until April 17 to have my check post dated. Is that true?

April 15th is the date for it to be postmarked and be on time for 2023 unless you live in MA or ME, then it is April 17th.
