Can I just ignore this? National Grid's payers federal id number is 00-0000000 on my 1099-div. The review says this is invalid.

I think this is because National Grid is an English company - but I'm not sure.

Yes, you can ignore it or leave it blank. The federal id number is not required to e-file your return.

If there is a way for the software to look up foreign companies it could be handled automatically, and not show up as something to be fixed in the review step.

TurboTax bug fix.  Delete the 00-000000 and it will file.  New for TT2019.  Never had to do this for the past 5+ years.
