No. When someone listed on your tax return does not have an ITIN, you must paper-file your tax return.
You leave the space for the ITIN blank on your tax return and file form W-7 together all the required documents with your tax return. The IRS will process your form W-7 first and when an ITIN is issued, the IRS will write the ITIN in your tax return and process it.
