Yes, you can use TaxCaster to see what your 2018 Income Tax might be under different scenarios.

That seems to be for 2017. When will taxcaster be updated for tax year 2018?

Can I do a "what if" analysis for 2018?

IF you run thru the TaxCaster interview..using expected 2018 data...it displays both a 2017 result as the main result, but also a 2018 result on the same page....Rt-hand side.

Or if you put in your 2017 data, it will show the 2017 result, along with an as-if all income is the same,  2018 result...again on the rt-hand side of the final page...

Desktop Software users can just open their 2017 tax files
...switch to Forms Mode
....open the "What-IF" worksheet
...transfer all their 2017 values into a 2018 column  (need to check the "2018" box)
........then change whichever values needed to be accurate  for their expected 2018 income and deductions.
