Unfortunately, you cannot delete your TurboTax account. 

Once you've paid or registered, we're required to store copies of your return. These are the same requirements imposed on accountants, CPAs, and other professional tax preparers.

Nothing will happen to the information in your TurboTax online account - it just stays there as described above. Nobody can see it or access it unless you give them the user ID and Password.

If you entered any 2020 information and did not pay for 2020 TurboTax services (or register0ed), you can clear out that 2020 information. Anything in the account from 2019 or earlier will remain on file.

As long as you haven't submitted payment, deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund, or registered, you can erase your return and start from scratch in TurboTax Online.

1. Sign in and select a topic to continue your return.
2. On the next screen, from the left-side menu, select Tax Tools, and then Clear & Start Over (select the menu icon in the upper-left corner if you don't see this menu).
3. Answer Yes in the pop-up to confirm.
