If you have not already filed your tax return, then you should be able to go back to the "Personal" information section of the TurboTax program, and edit your taxpayer mailing address.
If you have filed your tax return, but yet haven't received a tax refund, then you can certainly change your mailing address of record with the IRS. In fact, the IRS maintains a webpage that will explain the various methods of effecting an address update. Here is the link to that page:
In addition, it may help you to know that this is a perfectly normal request you'd be making of the IRS. Taxpayers move and change their addresses all of the time. It's actually very common.
But please note that the IRS will only accept Post Office (P.O.) Box addresses if the
U.S. Postal Service doesn't offer mail delivery to your home's street
address.
Thank you for asking this question.
I entered my address like this:
<address removed>
I cant receive mail at my physical address so I added my po box on the end of my physical address, and im afraid the irs will not send my check now because i put 2 addresses on my 1040. will it go thru you think? or am i going to have to do an address change?
It should go through.
You should generally use your home address, but the IRS says in its Instructions for Forms 1040 and 1040-SR to enter a P.O. Box number "only if your post office doesn't deliver mail to your home."
[PII removed] is my mailing address could you please have it changed
No.
We cannot change anything for returns you have already filed with the taxing agencies.
You can do it by referring to the following instructions from the IRS.
