I want to know if my parents can claim me as a dependent for 2018.
I am 23 so I know I have to be a student to qualify as a dependent. My university is on the quarter system. Per my school's guidelines, I was a full-time student from JAN - MAR (3 months) but only a part-time student from APR - JUN (3 months). I think the IRS guidelines states that I have to be full-time for 5 months.
Can I be claimed as a dependent if I was technically only full-time for 3 months?

To qualify as a full time student, you have to be a full time student for at least 5 months or part-months in 2018.
As you are a full time student for only 3 months, you do not qualify.
As you are aged over 18, your parents cannot claim you as a dependent (qualifying child).
But if they provided more than half of your support and you earned less than $4,150 in 2018, they can claim you as a qualifying relative.
