Can I appeal late filing? Thought I had submitted it Monday

You can appeal anything with the IRS.  However, appealing a late filing will not result in success.  Please see Tax appeals for more information on appealing tax issues with the IRS.  If you are expecting a refund or do not owe, you have nothing to worry about if you file by Friday.   You can however try to appeal the penalties if you do owe and you may be able to get help with this.  Make sure to read the article for advice on this.
