Once I entered an amount on line 15f, the form showed up (you have to switch to Forms view to see it). I was then able to enter the carryover amount from last year.
The online Forms Availability Tool indicates that California Form 3804-CR is available. What is the error message you are seeing?
If you're having trouble updating your TurboTax 2023 for Windows Individual software using the "Check for Updates" method, here are instructions for how you can get the latest federal program update:
Logging out of TurboTax and back in, changing browsers, or clearing your cache and cookies often helps.
The problem is that the software is too stupid to figure out when you have a PTE credit carryover from the prior year. Since my company didn't add to the credit in 2023, the form just wasn't showing up, and searching for it doesn't work (I spent two hours on the phone with a customer service representative, and she couldn't figure it out either).
I finally got the form to show up by entering a random amount for the credit on the Partnership K-1 Adjustments page, but it disappears if I remove that amount. Hopefully I will be able to find a way around the problem.
It boggles the mind to think that Intuit charges $100 or more for the same software with minor modifications year after year. I have spent years developing games that are much more complicated with large teams, and those sell for much less. What a load of crap.
Did you figure out a workaround? I am having the same problem. I entered the information into 15 F on the California return but I can’t find 3804 – CR on turbo tax for pass through entities. I saw on the phone with someone at TurboTax yesterday for an hour.

I have the same issue. Hope this is fixed soon.
Still not fixed in 2024, but the price of the software went up, of course. Thanks for nothing, turbotax, you suck!
Thank you for bringing up this issue again. I will report this issue as an area needing enhancement to the California interview and program, and for consideration as a topic for a Help Article.
