California E file

I am unable to e file my California state return! I have tried countless trouble shooting tactics from support. Clearing the cache, restarting my computer, reinstalling turbo tax does not work!! Is there any other solution to this problem?

It looks like you have tried multiple troubleshooting steps and still cannot e-file your California state return. Here are some additional reasons and solutions 

1. Check for Software Updates: Make sure your TurboTax software is up-to-date. Sometimes, updates are released to fix bugs and issues.
2. Form Availability: Certain forms may not be available for e-filing yet. TurboTax often waits for IRS or state approval before enabling e-filing for specific forms
   1. To check the availability of specific forms in TurboTax, you can use the TurboTax forms availability tool
   2. The following forms are currently not supported for e-file:
      1. California Information Worksheet
      2. Federal Schedule A
      3. Form 593
      4. Form 3519 (PIT)
      5. Form 3522
      6. Form 3526-AMT
      7. Form 3536
      8. Form 3567
      9. Form 3582
      10. Form 3582X
      11. Form 8453/8453-OL
      12. Form 8829
      13. Form CA 540-ES
      14. Form US 6198
      15. Payment Voucher for LLC e-filed Returns
      16. SF WTC - Application for San Francisco Working Families Credit
      17. Schedule K-1 (100S)
      18. Schedule K-1 (541)
      19. Schedule K-1 (568)
      20. Schedule RDP
      21. Schedule X
3. Since you are using TurboTax Desktop: To determine if any of these forms are included in your tax return in TurboTax follow these steps:
   1. In TurboTax Desktop, you can view and make changes directly to your tax forms. You can do this by selecting the Forms icon at the top of the screen.
   2. To switch back, select Step-by-Step (Windows) or EasyStep (Mac).
4. If your form is not supported for e-file or you are still unable to e-file another option is to print and mail your return. by following these  steps:
   1. Open Your Return: With your return open in TurboTax, select the File tab, then select Continue.
   2. File by Mail: On the next screen, E-file Your Federal Return for FREE, select File by mail and Continue.
   3. Print Tax Return for Mailing: Continue through the screens until you get to the Print Tax Return for Mailing screen. Select Continue.
   4. Print Your Return:
      • Windows Users: On the next screen, select Print Returns to Mail, then select Preview Print Copy. Once the preview has opened, select the printer icon.
      • Mac Users: After the printing graphic finishes loading, select Print.
   5. Complete the Process: When finished, select Continue in TurboTax and follow any additional onscreen instructions.

Hi! So when will we know if those forms will be granted approval for e file, or if that will be a future option? I had already paid the $25 fee so if I must mail it in what is the process to receive that money back?

Do you have one of the California forms that isn't supported for e-filing? If that's the case, it isn't expected to become an option. If a form is just not yet available, we would see an expected availability day.
