I have tried to complete a filing for the last 4 days and every computer or device in my home turbo Tax states a browser update. I’m spending hours a day trying to update with my devices stating the browser is already updated. I even tried my sister computer and the same thing happens can not access Turbo Tax and have over 8 years of returns from prior years.

What can be done about this or it’s just a problem getting access to Turbo Tax?

Apparently the only way you can use TurboTax is if you clean out all your information for an "update".  This is crazy.

I've used turbotax for years and now suddenly the browser crap.  Finally went to hrblock and had absolutely no problem.  Bye bye turbotax

I filed online with an IRS-recommended site.  The browser works and no hidden charges.  Au revoir, turbotax!

Here is what I did, I'm not a computer whiz, if I can YOU can!

Updating Chrome did not work no matter what I tried!    I have an old Mac, version OSX 10.9.5.   I went to the Mozilla Firefox webpage while in my current Chrome browser and completed the browser download.  I have never used Firefox before.

Here is the key for you non-tech folks like me..  once you complete downloading it, you need to go to the Mozilla Browser Home Page and register.  It's not automatically using Firefox after you download, you're probably still in Chrome.   It's simple to register, email, age for some reason?, Verify code, etc.  It takes a few minutes, and color me skeptical, but when I finally went back to Intuit, using Firefox as my browser, Viola!

But if this isn't worth your time, (after 9 years with TT for me it was), then I'd suggest going elsewhere.

Cheers,

Having the same issue.  All my browsers are up to date and so I am not about to download an update un needed.  I just need the download.  Is this really the way they are doing things?

@sbcole4 What browser are you using?

Try to delete your cookies. If that doesn't work, try clearing your browser's cache. Then try logging out and logging back into TurboTax. You can also try using a different browser. The following articles will show you how to do it.

Short answer:  don't bother with turbotax.  go to the irs.gov website and use one of the partners there. it's free to use and it actually works.
