Box 2 empty on w2

Box 2 is empty on all three of my w2s. My income for 2024 was $7,785 below the standard deduction. I remember putting on my w4 that I am not exempt from federal tax withholding. Could it be because my income was below the standard deduction?

Yes.  The reason they did not withhold any type of taxes is because your income is below the standard deduction.  They only start withholding taxes, once your income for the pay period would be greater than the standard deduction, unless you tell them to withhold an additional amount.

That is possible.   You did not make enough to have a tax liability.   If no tax was withheld and this was your ONLY income, then you are not required to file a tax return unless you have a 1095A for marketplace health insurance.
