Question

Box 16 & 17

I am having trouble with it saying Box 17 cannot be greater than or equal to Box 16. I worked in NH and live in VT so Box 16 is blank for VT and Box 17 is not blank because VT taxes were taken out. I cannot figure out what to do.

Enter amount in box 1 as amount in box 16.  You have both VT income an wityholding.

I would think that copying box 1 into box 16 of the TTX software form would work.  (not sure we have any VT specialists in this forum)

I just don't know if VT has any special treatment for certain pre-tax deductions (Medica ins, HSA/FSA etc) that might change the value of box 16 somewhat.

@SteamTrain  I am in VT. VT closely follows Fed tax law.

Ahh.....your Specialties list (the All Info tab) shows CA

.......but I see they've added a separate tab for states listing now too, and you've VT there.

I usually only look at the main page
