On this year's (2018) federal return, the amount that is showing up in the software for last year's state income tax refund is $1,319. I checked with my state's website and it also shows $1,319 on the 1099-G. However, my filing with the state last year through TurboTax had a refund of $1,064 and I confirmed that we actually received that amount in our bank account. Can you tell me why they do not agree? Thank You Michael Sullivan

The link below has a list of possible reasons that the amount on your 1099-G might differ from the refund that you actually received. The first group gives reasons that the 1099-G amount could be more than the refund you received. This list is from New York State, but the reasons could apply to any state.
i cant get in to get my 1099G
