Billed for two items

The total billed on the summary page is 69.98. It seems I am being charged 34.99 for turbo tax twice. I opted for it to come out of my refund. Why am I being charged 69.98? Does it bill for using the deduct from refund option?

Many are not aware that if you choose to have your payment taken out of your refund,  then a refund processing fee of $34.99 will be charged by the bank that handles the transaction. This can raise the amount of fees that are taken out of the return.To avoid the fee, you would need to choose to pay with credit card instead. If you have NOT already filed, you can change the option to pay by doing the following:

  • Log in to your online account, and then click on the Take Me to My Return
  • Click on the File tab at the end and then click on Start (or Revisit) next to Step 1.
  • You should see View Payment Options at the bottom. Click on this
  • Here you'll be able to click Pay by Card and avoid the extra fee

I ordered TurboTax Advantage and got and email to up date my credit card to process my order.  This was on Nov. 5th when I made the order.  Nov. 7th I was charged for the same Turbo tax program.  Need that cancelled and refunded since it was your mistake

To contact TurboTax customer service/support use their contact website during business hours. If the problem concerns any type of refund for fees, use the key words billing issues and do Not use the word Refund or you will get a phone number for tax refunds.
