I live in a California county that is on the federally declared disaster area list (due to the recent winter storms). I also owe taxes for 2022.
Does this mean I am automatically eligible for the Oct 16th filing and payment extension by virtue of my address (and won't incur interest or other penalties)? OR do I need to show that I actually was impacted by mudslides and flooding to be eligible?
Most articles imply the former, but some the latter.
Which one is correct?
