Last year I was selected to be on the of the ones to proof my identity....I received a letter a few weeks after I filed. I had to call and make an appointment to go down to the local IRS office, the appointment was like 2 weeks out. I had to take all of my W2's, birth certificates, SS cards, and the last 2 year of 1040's.  Then I got my refund direct deposited about 3 weeks later. SSSOOO........NO It's NOT going to be overnight to get your refund, you're looking at about 2 months out.

Nothing has changed for me either just got off phone and they said 9 out of 10 times it takes the whole 45 days if not  longer for some it is 180 days to just be patient and wait till March 30 and I should hear something by then

Just got off the phone same here no reason for the review just that its being review

I was told today by tax advocate that a letter will be sent out today from irs and that my 45 days will start with the date on the letter.. so frustrated

Thats not true if you didnt get a letter its law that they have to tell what is going on with your return

Whitty92 you may want to look into getting a tax advocate if they wont tell what they are doing. Thats what i plan on doing once i get the letter if it doesnt tell me what this review is about.
