I want to attach foreign documents (PDF) that support/explain my reported income and foreign tax paid since things work quite differently here.
Now, I have red different information in the community where some say you can not attach documents while e-filing, and others say you can (maybe I was on the wrong topic). Anyway, what I find curious is that under the Tools tab there is an "attachment" option, however TurboTax does not allow me to click on it.
Also curious is that on the Learn More information of the 1099-R form, I guess it is hinted that you can attach documents that supports reported pension?: For foreign pensions, a year-end statement showing annual distributions.

If you want to attach documents to your return, you will have to print and mail your return. There are certain documents you can upload and attach to your return in after completing specific sections of the return (1099-B for example). But you can't attach what you are referring to.

According to the tax program, "If you are e-filing your tax return, you will need to attach a PDF copy of your 1099-B or broker statement(s) when you transmit your return. We will guide you through this process at that time." But . . . that is not working for me as I am not being presented with the opportunity to upload my 1099-B. What am I doing wrong? Any insight or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
