When displaying the summary of Federal Deductions & Credits, Turbotax 2021 is adding incorrectly. See the attached screenshot. It appears that for 2020 (last year), it is using the 2021 standard deduction of $25,100 instead of $24,800 to calculate the total deductions of $33,200. And for 2022, it is ignoring the $600 charitable deduction. However, on the next screen it includes the $600 in the standard deduction, saying that the standard deduction is $25,700, inconsistent with the previous page and with the Form 1040 value. None of this is very confidence building!! When I see simple errors like these I can't help but wonder what is happening "under the covers" that I can't see. 😕
Addition errors in TT 2021
The next screen shows the "standard deduction" including the $600, though the standard deduction used on Form 1040 is $25,100 (the $600 is a separate deduction on Form 1040):
Disappointing quality for product where mathematical and definitional precision is required.
