Apparent glitch in program

I am using the TurboTax 2025 Home and Business program, the download version for Windows. While inputting information for the 1099R, the program read my typed input for line 14a as a number greater than the amount of the gross distribution amount. It seems it is not reading the period in the numerical value of the input box for the 14 a line amount. Please address this ASAP the program will not allow me to continue until the amount is corrected, which it is. The program went into a loop returning me to "correct 1 item". When I entered the amount as 0.00 the program continued. Thanks

Remove the . and the amount after it.  Round up or down to the nearest dollar.

Hi Vanessa, I tried removing the dot and rounding up. Neither worked but 0.00 did allow me to continue.

If box 14 for state withholding is empty then leave all boxes 14-16 Blank.

If box 14 has an amount and box 16 is blank put in the amount from box 2a in box 16.  If box 2a is blank, and you haven't made after-tax contributions to the account, you can use the amount in box 1.

Hey VolvoGirl, the amount of state tax withheld is correct, taken from the proper box on the 1099R. The issue seems to be a technical problem with the program.
