Amended return situation or alternative solution??

How would last years tax return have NONE of my W2’s or 1099’s listed. My numbers don’t match at all! I don’t know how this could have happened. Last years return is showing we made less than half of what I have documents for….Do I need to amend or is there a way TurboTax can figure out why my numbers don’t match?

Amended return situation or alternative solution??

It depends. You can look at last year's return if you used Turbo Tax online to see if the numbers were reported correctly. To access in Turbo Tax online.

  1. Log into Turbo Tax
  2. Select Scroll down Your tax returns & documents in your landing page.
  3. Locate your 2023 return.
  4. Select amend return. You won't be amending this time but this will get you back into that return after answering some preliminary questions.
  5. Once you are in the return you can verify all your entries made to make sure these are correct. Make sure all of your 1099's and W'2s are entered.
  6. If not, you can enter those at this time and complete the amendment of your return.

Chances are, if you had multiple 1099's and W2's, some may have not been entered.

If you used Turbo Tax software, your last year's return should be stored on your computer as there is no other way to retrieve this information.
