I received an amended 1099 from my broker and have gone in to update my filing but now that the new year is here I'm being told forms will not be ready until February 13, 2026. This is an old form that is definitely ready now so how can I perform an import?

What tax year is that corrected document from?   If it is from last year---or some other prior year-- you cannot import it.   Financial institutions take down past year information and only allow importing of current year data.   Most financial institutions will not have 2025 data available for import into tax software until mid to late February.

They often have it up on their website so that you can print it for yourself and/or enter it by hand sooner if you want to.

A corrected past year tax document will have to be entered into your amended return by hand.

It is from 2024. That is disappointing because I'm a very active trader with a lot of data to import. Is there any way to manually import it if I download?

No. You will want to enter your data in subtotals. You can enter 4 lines (often less) and cover the entire form.

    Enter the totals for each:

    • short term covered
    • short term non-covered
    • long term covered
    • long term non-covered

If you use multiple brokerages, do the same for each.

Reminder:  wash sales are disallowed and the loss is added to the basis of the next purchase
