Question

Amend State Tax Return Only

I need to apply veteran exemption to my State Tax returns for 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.  Is it mandatory to amend the federal tax returns too?

    No, you can file State amended returns only if nothing will change on the Federal 1040.
