I received a CP24 with corrected refund. I need to correct a 1099-INT amount I submitted with my original return.
How do I submit the corrected number - if via 1040-X -- do I reference the numbers on my original submission as the base for the amendment or do I need to include the CP024 adjustments made by the IRS to the 1099-X amendment?

A CP24 notice is sent by the IRS to tell you of changes the IRS made. If the notice is correct, you do not need to file a 1040X amended return. If anything, you can amend your own return but it is only for your records.
If you disagree with the notice, you will need to follow the instructions on the notice. Please see Understanding your CP24 notice from the IRS for more details.
