Adopted child has name change/social security change, do I list as 2 dependents?

We adopted our child from foster care.  We have been claiming him on our taxes for years.  Upon adoption he got a new name and social security number.  Do I just list him under his new name and social for the full year, even thought the adoption/name change was complete in the summer?

You should list him with his new name and social security number. The IRS will verify him to what the Social Security Administration currently has on file.
