Adjusted cost basis not getting updated on summary page.

the cost basis imported from brokerage needs to be adjusted and so I use guide step by step, it does calculate correct/expected cost basis based on RSU release information, but at the end when I hit continue, it goes back to original imported cost basis and nothing is updated.

I think you are being fooled by some very confusing pages that the developers walk you through after you correct your basis where it looks like your work has been ignored.  If you follow the trade all the way through your Form 8949 I think you'll see that the trade is being properly reported.

I don't understand why the developers chose to do this.

"no the estimated tax does NOT change."

You absolutely, positively CANNOT judge the correctness or otherwise of an entry by looking at the "Refund-O-Meter" at the top of the page.  You need to look at your actual income tax return.

Go look here:

Original poster was making the same complaint, but ultimately admitted that it was the program that was confusing him and that the trade was being reported properly in the INCOME TAX RETURN.

I edited my original answer to with an example to show how confusing the interview is but how it ultimately gets to the correct answer.

Adjusted cost basis not getting updated on summary page.

I am having the same issue.  Worse yet, the interview in the step by step guide is not working the same for every ESPP sale and I do not understand why.  On some of them, it allows me to populate the box that is labeled ordinary income, on others that box is greyed out and cannot be modified.  In the later case, when I click 'Continue,' it gives me a red warning message above the ordinary income box suggesting that ESPP trades usually have a Ordinary Income component (which is true), but it still will not allow me to enter a value in the box.  Completely frustrating and confusing.

I don't understand that statement.

You start out with the sale of stock acquired through an ESPP by entering the 1099-B information, then you ask TurboTax go guide you step by step, selecting the "ESPP" path.  The ESPP path asks if the sale was was from one lot or multiple lots and if you answer "multiple lots" TurboTax starts soliciting the Form 3922 information, even if you didn't get a Form 3922. At least, that's how it works in the desktop version.

There is no box in the desktop version labeled "ordinary" income; that's calculated by TurboTax based on your entries.

I can see the utility of asking for "ordinary income" if you know what it is, but the premise - again in the desktop version - is that you don't know or don't understand what that even means.  You have a screen shot of what you're seeing?  You can attach it to an "Answer".
