So I think I made a huge mistake but was wondering if anyone had any experience with this.

I filed my taxes day before yesterday and a job that I worked in 2018 popped up and I put the information from the w2 in. I know now that I was supposed to file an amendment for 2019 but wanting to know how this will affect my refund.

I can't tell you how it will affect your refund, but it definitely will affect it.  The information you filed from the prior year W-2 will not match with the IRS records.  The IRS send you a letter letting you know that your return does not agree with their records, and they will propose changes.  If you agree with the changes, you won't have to do anything.  If you don't agree you will have to notify them.

Thank you so much! How long does it usually take for them to notice the error so I can fix it?

It depends.

The IRS has been behind with processing returns so it is really hard to give you an estimated time frame.
