I have been reading all your responses to the activation screen problem… but mine is a little different. I have the activation screen but it won’t allow me to type my activation code. All my windows updates are current. I tried all your recommendations but nothing works. I have been a user for over 20 years and this is beyond frustrating. Anyone have the problem of activation screen not responsive to typing??

What is the TurboTax phone number? (intuit.com)
Thank you for the suggestion but unfortunately it still does not work.

I have the same problem. The four balls keep circling, with no place to type in the activation code. This lasts for hours and hours. DOes anybody have a solution? Thanks!
I tried CD install, Download install, uninstall and reinstall, different internet connections - and the problem still persists. Using Windows 11 Home 64-bit
Please follow the instructions here to manually update the software, to see if this will fix your issue.
Please let us know if this does not work. @mkornfeld
I'm sorry Carissa, but it didn't help at all.
Based on the link you sent I get the impression that you do not have a clear picture of the problem, so here is a link to a video of exactly what I am seeing when clicking on the Turbotax icon (after it downloads updates). It is an activation screen that never gets to the point of asking for my activation code, just tossing 4 balls around. Link is http://www.dafyomi.co.il/turbotax-activation-freezing.webm
The only thing I could think of is that there is something about my Internet connection that blocks Turbotax from connecting. I tried using another person's Internet provider and it didn't help. I do have McAffee Internet Security installed on my computer, and if your experts insist that is the problem I will uninstall it. Please try to find out. I see that others are having the same problem; it must be a rather common problem. Any info you can forward that might be helpful will be appreciated.
Thank you, Marc
You don't need to uninstall your security but you can adjust it or turn it off while getting TT updates.
Done that already; cranked it down as low as it goes. Didn't help.
Is anyone else getting the screen that I'm getting when trying to activate Turbotax? Here's the link to my screenshot again:
Activation screen with endless bouncing balls
Thanks, Marc
My McAffee doesn't have an option to turn off more than I've done; if anyone can tell me that it will help, I'll try to uninstall it.
But let me point out that I've never had such trouble with any other program installation, and I've installed dozens of programs with McAfee running
