Can a J1  student apply for an educational grant for US students?

@kr547_ , generally  NO, but actually depends on  what type of edu. grants are you talking about.  Your best source information for this type  of  information is your school foreign students' office.

If you give more details   eg. which country  you are from,  which particular  type of grant ( and source / country etc. ) I could  chase this down  but it would far quicker  and more effective  for you to talk to your foreign/international student office -- they have all the facts and experience.
