I am 67 yrs old. Listed as Single as I am widowed since 2012. Why am I not considered Head of Household and thereby eligible for California's renters credit?

I am the sole surviving person in my household. I pay $800 monthly rebt. Feds list me as Single because I'm widowed  since 2012. Am I entitled to renters credit in california?

You need a dependent relative living in your home to qualify as Head of Household.

Renters credit goes off of income, sounds like you make too much to qualify for it....its only $60 for single, and its not refundable, it only reduces tax liability....so you're really not missing much
