Does an US resident alien without SSN but ITIN be eligible to get 3rd stimulus? Also, How to declare a spouse will be applying for the ITIN while using the Turbotax software?

If you are applying for an ITIN you can use 999 - 99 -9999 as a place filler so you can print the return to mail with the W-7.  The link below will show you how to complete your W-7 application with instructions about how and what to mail with your tax return.

Each person on the return must have a valid social security number per the IRS.

• The Third Economic Impact Payment amount was:

  • $1,400 for an eligible individual with a valid Social Security number ($2,800 for married couples filing a joint return if both spouses have a valid Social Security number or if one spouse has a valid Social Security number and one spouse was an active member of the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the taxable year)
  • $1,400 for each qualifying dependent with a valid Social Security number or Adoption Taxpayer Identification Number issued by the IRS
